The Emperor’s New Clothes

September 8- 12 3:30 - 5pm

In this class we will work together to put an exciting play together for the end of the week. We will learn fun lines, wear costumes and design our set! This is a fun class for beginning actors and kids that have been in the spotlight a bit. There are parts for all kinds of personalities! There will be a short play (free) and showing of skills learned at the end of the week for friends and family.  
 
 
It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

October 20-24 3:30-5pm
1st -4th grade

Who doesn’t love Charlie Brown! This will be a fun way for kids to celebrate the Halloween season while putting together a spooky but fun play. We will play our favorite Charles Schultz characters, learn how to project our voices well and act our parts and have a fun mini play (free) at the end of the week for our friends and family.

This is a class for people wondering how to get started in professional theatre. You will get a packet of information on auditions, agents in Minnesota, arts grants, useful websites, example audition songs and monologues, and do a pseudo-audition to prepare you for local, statewide and national auditions.  
 
 
Beginning Musical Theatre: DISNEY SONGS!

November 10th - 14th 3:30-5pm
2nd - 5th Grade

Do you love to sing? Do you love Disney? Do you always want to be in the spotlight? Join us at SPOTLIGHT for this new and exciting class that we are offering! We will work on our musical theatre performance skills while learning some classic Disney tunes. This is a great way to try out musical theatre acting and see if you want to give some of the bigger community plays a chance! There will be a (free) presentation at the end of the week for family and friends.
 
 
The Velveteen Rabbit

December 8th -12th 3:30-5pm

This class is a great way to bring in the holiday season. We will put together a heartwarming play with this classic tale. We will work on acting skills, costume designs, makeup and a little technical theatre too. There will be a mini play (free) at the end of the week for friends and family.
 
The Elves and Shoemaker

2nd - 5th Grade

Got the winter doldrums? Come on out and take an acting class! We will put this lively story together with creative costumes, fun staging and create really quirky characters. This is a great class for kids that may have tried a little acting or have a huge imagination and are always creating. There will be a mini play (free) at the end of the week for friends and family.
 
 
Advanced Acting: Preparing and Researching your character

December 15th - 19th
6-7:30pm
Ages 14 through adult

This is a class for teens and adults that have been in at least a few stage productions. We hope to show you relaxation techniques that you can use to prepare for a performance and also give you different ways to find your character when working on a play. Don’t be scared off by the description. We promise to make it fun and easy! There will be no final skill showing for this class but we may invite some people in if the class agrees as a group.
